The final Mecha-Godzilla from my monthly livestream with Kristian and Keith. Our next stream is March 8th at 8 pm EST on YouTube. See you then!
SHANNON ASSOCIATES
I signed with Shannon Associates LLC as my Art Representative. This will not affect any existing clients, but any future work will be negotiated for me by my agent. You can see their full roster of amazing artists and my portfolio on their site here.
MARCH OF ROBOTS
March of Robots is another daily drawing challenge where you draw a new robot every day through March. I am retrofitting this challenge as a promotional tool for Cyber League Baseball. Every day, starting today, I will be posting the character art of a new player from the CLB world to my Instagram.

PATREON
Speaking of patronage…
Patreon It is a monthly subscription (because you don’t have enough of those in your life) to exclusive art, process work, and community chats with me, Anderson the artist.
There will be easy-to-see benefits such as exclusive art, videos, and rants. But the biggest benefit that you will earn as a patron is access to my community of fans and me. At each tier of patronage, there are content benefits and community benefits. Paetron Link
Most of the benefits are digital, but as an added incentive, the first 20 Starter Patrons will also receive a physical baseball card from my March of Robots series. (USA only)
CYBER LEAGUE BASEBAL: The Naturals
You guys! it is almost here! I am so excited to share this story with y’all. I started inking yesterday. Inning 1 will be split into 5 parts released every two weeks. Then I may need a month or two to complete the next Inning.
3/28 Inning 1 part 1
4/11 Inning 1 part 2
4/25 Inning 1 part 3
5/9 Inning 1 part 4
5/23 Inning 1 part 5
Traditionally, webcomics are released 1-page/week. But I never liked this model because a page often starts and finishes mid-thought/story. It’s like eating only one bite of pizza at each meal. Instead, I have broken up the first Inning into 5 scenes so that you can read a full scene and feel gratified at the end that you have eaten an entire slice.
WATCH: Confess, Fletch
Great whodunit movie. I have been itching for a Jon Hamm led movie, and this was perfect. Based on a novel with the same title, the dialogue is sharp and the verbal sparing is a highlight.
LISTEN: 3-Point Perspective
I can’t believe I haven’t recommended this podcast before. I’ve been listening to this podcast for years and these guys do a great job talking about the art and business side of an illustration career. If you are looking to up your illustration game, definitely give this a listen.
READ: Step by Bloody Step
What a fantastic comic. No dialogue, save for a few word balloons full of mysterious symbols, this book is gorgeous and flows in a wonderful circle that immediately warrants a reread.
PLAY: Dungeons & Dragons
Again, surprised I haven’t recommended this… I play D&D with my friends every Friday evening. This game can be very intimidating because there are both a lot of rules and kinda no rules. It’s better to think of this game as collaborative storytelling than competitive play. But don’t worry, there is plenty of play to go around.
Exclusivity
Why do we value objects or experiences?
Multiple factors determine how we value things; the Creator, the Content, and the Context. The Creator might be a close friend or inspiration and so an artwork by that creator carries a certain value. The content of the piece might strike a unique chord with you and your story, it might touch on a particular experience or inclination of yours, making it valuable. The Context that the piece was made in might represent a time or place in your life, like covering your fridge with magnets from places you have traveled.
These are great concepts to keep in mind especially if you are considering purchasing a piece of art. But I believe one of the most powerful considerations in evaluating something like art is its availability or lack thereof.
Enter exclusivity.
Cinema used to have this concept down pat. A movie used to be in theaters exclusively, for a couple of months, then a large gap before it was available for rental, or purchase. But streaming has ruined this model with many movies going to theaters and your home with minimal or no delay. With this instant mass availability, there is a significant drop in value.
This is why a print is less valuable than the original. The image is the same. But, the original is one of a kind, exclusive, and the most valuable. The prints are many and therefore cheaper.
With all this in mind, I started a Patreon. I want to curate an exclusive and valuable experience for my fans. It is my aim that your experience supporting me on a Patreon is similar to the membership at your local art museum or gallery with dozens of exclusive artworks and behind-the-scenes experiences to pique your interest in art and inspire you to be creative in your work and hobbies.
Over the last year, I have been creating some art that has never seen the light of day, but now I have the opportunity to share it via Patreon.
I chose this rant specifically for this issue of my Substack as the Philosophical Rant will now be exclusive to my Patreon supporters. The rest of this newsletter is not going away. I will still send Drawing Conclusions out every month and post things occasionally on my Instagram. But the bulk of my work will be focused on adding value to my Patreon.
I hope you will join me!
Reminder, the first 20 supporters at the STARTER tier will get three signed Cyber League Baseball cards in the mail. (USA only)
Cheers,
&
